AREAS AFFECTED: Greene; Macoupin; Montgomery; Bond; Fayette; Clinton; Marion; Washington; Randolph; Adams; Brown; Pike; Calhoun; Jersey; Madison; St. Clair; Monroe
DESCRIPTION: The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an Air Pollution Action Day for August 1st for all of Illinois due to wildfire smoke. An Illinois "Air Pollution Action Day" is declared when weather conditions are such that widespread ozone and or particulate levels are expected to be at or above the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) category of the Air Quality Index for all or almost all of Illinois. USG - Active children and adults especially people with pulmonary or respiratory disease such as asthma should limit prolonged outdoor activity. Unhealthy - Everyone should reduce prolonged activities or heavy exertion outdoors. Active children, older adults, and people with pulmonary or respiratory disease such as asthma should avoid prolonged activities or heavy exertion outdoors. Area residents are urged to reduce pollution levels. Air quality forecasts, AQI cautionary statements, current air quality, and tips on how you can reduce your emissions can be found at www.airnow.gov

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
