Green River near Mammoth Cave affecting Edmonson County. .Heavy rain from the past few days will cause the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Green River near Mammoth Cave. * WHEN...Until late this evening. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Green River Ferry closes to all traffic due to high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 31.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 32.3 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 32.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.7 feet on 02/06/1939. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
